Art Factory International hosts a dynamic calendar of workshops, residencies and public performances that connect participants with the international contemporary dance scene.
Each month, the program welcomes international guest artists for intensive one-week workshops, contributing to the professional and artistic growth of trainees through cutting-edge repertory, research techniques and creative approaches.
These sessions expose dancers to diverse movement languages – from Forsythe and Crystal Pite repertory to Gaga, Sharon Fridman INA practice, and experimental urban fusion – expanding technical skills and artistic vision.
During the season, selected artists are invited for artistic residencies to create new performance pieces in collaboration with AFI participants.
Working side-by-side with professionals from companies like Peeping Tom and Ultima Vez, trainees actively contribute to the development of original choreography, gaining hands-on experience in the creative process.
These works culminate in public presentations at CRUDO Festival and Rassegna Spazio CRUDO in Bologna.
Spazio CRUDO serves as a neutral performance venue hosting work-in-progress, previews and premieres, fostering dialogue between emerging artists, AFI participants and the public.
Teachers and guests are established international artists actively engaged in their own creations and productions.
From Wayne McGregor Company dancers to freelance choreographers with Juilliard and Biennale credits, their presence ensures the program remains at the forefront of contemporary dance trends, techniques and emerging performing languages.
This ecosystem of events transforms AFI from a training program into a living platform where dancers not only learn but create, perform and connect with the global scene.
