The Program
For over 16 years, Art Factory International has been offering participants the opportunity to build their own artistic identity with solid technical and creative foundations through our international professional training program for contemporary dancers.

Intensive Program 2026/2027
From October to May, five days a week, 9:15 to 3:45, you work alongside artists who are shaping the international dance scene right now. The training which includes a variety of daily curriculum classes of ballet, contemporary dance, floorwork, counter technique, capoeira, composition, repertoire, improvisation, hiphop and urban dance.

Program Seminars in somatic and body movement
Moreover, the program is also accompanied by seminars that focus on somatic and body movement such as Feldenkrais®, BMC® bodymindcentering, as well as the inclusive/physically integrated dance with the atelier CorpoPoetico®.

cultural production activities and creative management tools for dancers
the training program includes a sessions of seminars on cultural production activities and creative management tools for dancers researching and experimenting with contemporary body languages, dramaturgy, and self-entrepreneurship. We also offer a short Italian language seminar for dancers who wish to learn the basics in order to facilitate their greater integration and social inclusion within the city

INTERNATIONAL GUESTS
Each month the program hosts international guests for one full week. This season we are proud to host 10 international choreographers who will contribute to the professional and artistic growth of the trainees.

Pay attention to deadline
Submit your video audition application before deadline. You can apply from anywhere in the world. Participation is free of charge.
Prepare your materials
Submit the following materials together with your application: CV +2 photos, Motivation letter + Letter of reference 2 video links via YouTube or Vimeo (1 improvisation + 1 choreography). Videos must be publicly viewable, no password required.

Is an audition required?
Yes. After reviewing your application, selected candidates will be invited to:
- An online video audition, or
- A live audition in Bologna, or in other cities during the periods communicated on our official channels.
What will I receive upon completion?
The students will Dance Teacher Qualification (EQF Level 6) accredited by the Emilia-Romagna Region valid throughout Europe Union and also AFI Certificate of Completion, recognizing their participation in an intensive professional training and creative research program and the last the CorpoPoetico® Certificate of inclusive dance program within the AFI platform
What is the cost of the program?

When does the program start?
The new edition begins each year in October and ends in May.

Where is AFI located?
Art Factory International is based at the BACH ART CENTRE in Bologna, Italy, a multidisciplinary space dedicated to performing arts, artistic creation and cultural projects.
The centre hosts professional dance studios, rehearsal rooms and shared creative areas that support daily training, workshops and artistic residencies.
Bologna is a vibrant, well-connected cultural city, making it an ideal environment for dancers coming from Italy and abroad
